Project Description
The project for the complete replacement of the mains gas distribution to the entire estate consisting of three high rise tower blocks with their three distinct colour bands at the very top – red, yellow, blue ! There are several low rise blocks in the surrounding area.
We fabricated three 500mm headers and carried out a phased block by block exchange from the existing mains to the new gas distribution. The system was designed by consultants, Mendick Waring, to incorporate resilience. This was achieved via a complex system of isolation valves and allowing to flow in two directions via a large ring main system.
